Anthropic has launched the upgraded Claude 3.5 Sonnet and the new Claude 3.5 Haiku, enhancing AI capabilities in coding and tool use. The Claude 3.5 Sonnet shows significant improvements in coding performance, achieving a 49.0% score on SWE-bench Verified, surpassing all publicly available models. The Claude 3.5 Haiku, designed for affordability and speed, excels in coding tasks with a 40.6% score on the same benchmark. A groundbreaking feature, 'computer use', allows Claude to interact with computer interfaces like a human, enabling developers to automate complex tasks. This capability is currently in public beta, with early adopters like Replit and Cognition already leveraging its potential. Both models are available through the Anthropic API, Amazon Bedrock, and Google Cloud's Vertex AI.
